Transformative Pediatric Nursing Experience at Children's National Hospital

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Care Unit, as part of our esteemed 12-month Pediatric Nurse Residency Program. This innovative program is designed to provide nurses with the skills, knowledge, and expertise required to deliver exceptional care to pediatric patients.

About the Program:

  • This comprehensive program offers a unique blend of didactic and clinical education, led by experienced nurse educators and clinicians.
  • Nurses will have the opportunity to develop their critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills, while working alongside a talented multidisciplinary team.
  • The program includes a Human Resources orientation, a Unit-Based orientation, and acute and critical care tracks, ensuring that nurses are well-prepared for their roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate empathy, concern, and a desire to be helpful to others, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in performance appraisal and peer review, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Develop assessment, organizational, and prioritization skills necessary to care for patients whose clinical needs change throughout the shift.
  • Complete documentation in accordance with policies and procedures, maintaining accurate and timely records.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree ASN (Required)
  • 0 years (Required) minimum work experience
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland or Virginia dependent upon location of practice (Required)

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience
