Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist - Vent Field Clinician is a key member of our team at AdaptHealth LLC, providing high-quality respiratory patient care to Vent patients for optimal outcomes. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to Vent patients in alternate sites, ensuring compliance with AdaptHealth's policies and procedures.
  • Utilize acquired knowledge to increase competencies and stay up-to-date with new technologies and equipment.
  • Document procedures, including patient tolerance, side effects, and other pertinent information, in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with authorization for Ventilator referrals and participate in discharge planning for highly technical cases.
  • Perform clinical assessments, report results, and recommendations to referral and physician sources.
  • Participate in in-services, educate hospital staff, referrals, and other professionals on equipment and clinical issues.
  • Follow up with physicians and referrals regarding patient status and document accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Work to promote AdaptHealth through new program development, operational backup, personal visits, coordination of educational activities, and other initiatives.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
  • Associates degree from an AMA-approved respiratory program.
  • Valid and unrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by the branch.
  • Must be CPR certified.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience as a Health Care RT, HME RT, or clinical nursing with Vent experience.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
