Position Overview

Desert Heights Charter School
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily educational instruction to students.
- Design and execute evidence-based teaching and learning strategies, activities, and materials that reflect a comprehensive understanding of assessment data, diverse learning styles, and the educational requirements of students on your caseload.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to plan, develop, and adapt general education curricula as necessary.
- Oversee and assign tasks to paraprofessionals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior plans.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, rules, and statutes pertaining to special education, including compliance with timelines related to IEP and MET documentation, child studies, and parent communications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education is preferred.
- AZ Special Education Teaching Certificate or a Reciprocal Agreement in approved areas.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Apple applications.
- Adept at utilizing technology tools such as Student Information Systems, Grade Books, Electronic Communication, Online Curriculum, and Learning Management Systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and a positive professional demeanor.
