Position Summary:
The Clinical Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for assessing patients' communication, cognitive, and swallowing capabilities. This role involves delivering targeted, activity-based interventions to enhance communication, cognitive, and swallowing functions. The SLP will also provide education to patients, families, and support systems to ensure continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee patient assessments and treatment plans tailored to age-specific requirements.
- Evaluate patients referred for speech and language disorders, incorporating medical history and assessing swallowing, speech, language, voice, fluency, and cognitive-linguistic skills.
- Develop individualized care plans based on evaluation data, focusing on both short- and long-term objectives.
- Adhere to established documentation and procedural guidelines.
- Implement advanced treatment techniques for swallowing, oral-motor skills, language, and cognitive-linguistic functioning.
- Monitor patient progress and consult with healthcare providers regarding necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Adapt therapeutic tasks and environments to meet the unique needs of patients and their cultural contexts.
- Utilize resources efficiently and ensure proper billing procedures are followed.
- Create personalized home exercise programs and instruct patients, families, and staff on specific procedures and equipment.
- Manage patient scheduling to optimize treatment availability and coordinate with other services.
- Delegate treatment responsibilities to qualified support personnel while maintaining overall accountability for patient care.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.

- Expertise in executing therapeutic procedures and operating specialized equipment safely.
Education and Credentials:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or current Clinical Fellowship Year plan.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Oklahoma.
- Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience in rehabilitation Speech Pathology is preferred.
