Histology Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Baptist Health. As a Histology Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination, assisting with bone marrow aspirations, and maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by embedding, cutting, and staining with special dyes.
• Assist with bone marrow aspirations performed by physicians, primarily oncologists.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment, adhering to strict quality control standards.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate processing of tissue samples.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic understanding of histological techniques and laboratory procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for delicate tasks.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework in biology or related field preferred.
