Certified Surgical Technologist Level II

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist Level II to join our team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the surgical team in preparing the operating room for procedures, including setting up equipment and instrumentation.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team, passing sterile supplies and equipment as needed.
- Participate in surgical counts of sponges, sharps, instruments, and miscellaneous items to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Assist with draping and positioning patients, as well as placing surgical dressings after procedures.
- Receives and processes surgical specimens, verifying source and handling with care.
- Disassemble and clean surgical instrumentation, recycling and disposing of sharps, fluids, and waste as necessary.
- Ensure the cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, maintenance, and preparation of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for distribution.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Less than 1 year of experience in a surgical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from NBSTSA or NCCT, or completion of formal training in ST from Military/Public Health Service, or employed in ST role in a healthcare facility prior to 9/1/2009.
