Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU

Location: Dallas, TX

Shift: 12 HR Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 shifts per week, 36 scheduled hours

Hourly Rate: $32 - $53 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to newborn infants suffering from illness, injury, or prematurity, while also offering emotional support and education to their parents or guardians.

This position involves working closely with NICU physicians, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring round-the-clock care for the basic and advanced medical needs of the infants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill or premature newborn infants in the NICU
  • Assist NICU physicians during medical procedures, including intubations, central line insertions, and other life-saving treatments
  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in the newborn's condition
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of the patients medical history, treatment plans, and progress
  • Educate parents/guardians on their newborns condition, care plans, and any necessary at-home care upon discharge
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, respiratory therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care
  • Provide emotional support and compassionate care to the families of infants in the NICU
  • Participate in continuous education and professional development to stay current with NICU best practices and protocols
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Active RN license in Texas
  • At least 2 years of NICU nursing experience, preferably in Level III or IV NICU
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining excellent patient care standards
