About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Process Improvement Consultant to join our team at Gerdau Long Steel North America. As a key member of our Digital IT group, you will play a critical role in driving digital transformation and improving business agility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an SAP architect and catalyst of digital transformation to increase business agility and enable the company's strategy.
  • Lead and collaborate with the development of best practices, guiding principles, solutions architecture, and roadmaps.
  • Advise and drive the use of technology to streamline business processes.
  • Configure, develop, and implement SAP systems, and smoothly integrate SAP applications with existing IT business solutions.
  • Prepare test plans, test scripts for system testing, and functional testing, and implement the plan, as well as support for activities related to data conversion and resolve issues.
  • Provide SAP system support, end-user training, and document SAP processes.
  • Lead the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Participate in projects as an SAP expert.
  • Lead functional areas within projects and/or lead implementation projects.
  • Keep abreast of the latest SAP offerings, updates, and developments.
  • Work with Digital IT service providers to provide support to users, to deliver applications enhancements and on project activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business peers to gain their active support for the transformation agenda.
  • Support leadership in developing and implementing Digital IT roadmaps, such as projects and enhancements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • ~8 years of SAP experience.
  • ~ SAP certifications preferred.
  • ~ Extensive SAP (module-specific) knowledge.
  • ~ Experience with full-cycle SAP implementations preferred.
  • ~ Knowledge of IT processes, IT functions (development, infrastructure, security, governance), and technology (cloud, big data, architecture, APIs).
  • ~ Knowledge of Agile, Project Management, and Innovation processes.
  • ~ Ability to work with teams in Application Managed Services (AMS) environment driving engagement with an ownership mindset.
  • ~ Ability to document SAP processes.
  • ~ Experience leading projects.
  • ~ Strong knowledge of SAP ERP (ECC or S4/Hana) and solid functional experience with the SAP Modules FI and CO (Material Ledger (ML), Production Costing (CO-PC), Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) and integration with other SAP modules (SAP-SOP, SAP-MM, SAP-PP).
  • ~ Strong knowledge of core submodules such as Fixed Assets, Treasury, Credit Control, Account Payable, Account Receivable, Bank Communication, Cost Closing Cockpit, and Activity/Tasks Cockpit for cost closing.
  • ~ Experience with Concur, Vertex (Tax), VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) and Ariba is a plus and at the very least, to ensure the integration between these with SAP.
