Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rebar Drafting Trainee to join our team at Nucor Steel Auburn. As a Rebar Drafting Trainee, you will be responsible for detailing simple projects with a mentor's supervision, providing concise and accurate descriptions of reinforcing steel and related products for fabrication, delivery, and installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detail simple projects with a mentor's supervision
  • Provide concise and accurate descriptions of reinforcing steel and related products
  • Submit placing drawings for approval and ensure conformance to quality assurance and placer/shop requirements
  • Process change orders to maximize returns for the Branch
  • Maintain all deliveries for fabrication
  • Communicate with customers, placers, and Architects/Engineers on project-related questions and submit Requests for Information (RFI) as required
Requirements
  • Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting or related degree from an accredited school or college
  • At least six months experience using AutoCAD and Windows-based software
  • Able to read architectural/engineering blueprints
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or college
  • Construction and concrete-related knowledge and experience
  • Basic knowledge of civil technology
  • Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem-solving
