Job Summary

Pioneers Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the receipt, processing, and dispensing of orders from prescribers according to established procedures and standards.
  • Operate the pharmacy business systems according to established procedures and standards, to include ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, inventory, and billing.
  • Prepare insurance summaries; audit procedures; order entry in computer system; third-party claims submission and reconciliation, and unit-dose packaging.
  • Maintain accurate records and computer-based systems.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic drug handling procedures in accordance with laws and regulations.
  • Recommend methods to improve pharmacy services.
  • Perform other special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of recent office and/or business systems experience; one of which as a Pharmacy Technician with telephone and in-person contact/transactions with patients or customers.
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Colorado or the ability to secure a provisional license.
  • Ability to type accurately with moderate speed, and the ability to work/complete tasks accurately and individually and with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to move and traverse about the facility 50% of the time.
  • Frequently transport objects weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Occasionally position objects weighing up to 100lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange information in a way others will understand.
  • Must be able to recognize details such as color and depth within a few feet of the observer.
