Executive Director Opportunity

Goochland Powhatan Community Services Board is seeking an experienced human services leader to serve as our Executive Director. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding the agency's operations and overseeing our annual operating budget of over $8 million.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial drive, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to inspire others to achieve our mission and vision. You will work closely with our Board of Directors, community stakeholders, and local government leaders to nurture growth and development within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with community groups to build relationships and promote our services
  • Develop and direct organizational strategy to achieve our goals
  • Oversee agency budget and finances to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Coach department heads to ensure superior performance
  • Draft organizational policies and philosophies to guide our decision-making

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in a human service or administration/management field
  • Minimum of six years of experience in leading public or private organizations with similar functions and responsibilities
  • Established ability in providing effective leadership and inspiring others to achieve our mission and vision

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of human services administration, business administration, and government program administration
  • Considerable knowledge of mental health, developmental, and substance use disorder programs and services
  • Demonstrated skill in formulating policies, developing and administering budgets, and conducting effective community and public relations
