Position Summary: We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Vaccine Development Scientist to contribute to the Vaccine Production Program. This role is essential for the evaluation and creation of stable formulations for vaccine candidates, working within a multidisciplinary team at a renowned research center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project teams to assess and formulate stable vaccine candidates in both liquid and frozen forms.
- Partner with leadership to establish formulation development plans that align with project timelines and requirements.
- Design and oversee formulation and stability studies, ensuring technical execution meets project goals.
- Conduct studies as necessary, analyzing and interpreting data to inform formulation strategies.
- Develop and implement assays for the characterization and stability testing of biological products.
- Present findings and analyses in collaborative settings, fostering knowledge sharing.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including reports and protocols related to formulation and stability studies.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions in collaboration with team members.
- Provide strategic insights and technical guidance on study design and methodologies.
- Support team members in achieving their professional development objectives.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in analytical or theoretical aspects pertinent to formulation development.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, or an M.S. in the same disciplines.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in protein or vaccine formulation, stability, and characterization.
- 8+ years of cumulative experience in industry, government, or academia focused on protein formulation or related areas.
- In-depth knowledge of protein and polymer chemistry principles.
- Proficient understanding of biophysical and bioanalytical properties of proteins and applicable analytical techniques.
- Hands-on experience with spectroscopic, calorimetric, or particle sizing techniques.
- Familiarity with data analysis software platforms.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities.
