Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of school facilities through regular cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Support classroom teachers in setting up and maintaining furniture and equipment.
  • Perform various cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors.
  • Operate equipment for machine shampooing carpeting and other cleaning tasks.
  • Complete work requests to notify management of needed repair work.
  • Remove snow and ice and apply salt and/or ice-melting products when needed.
  • Maintain custodial closets and supply necessary cleaning materials.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the position.
  • Good interpersonal skills for working with diverse groups of people.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, push, pull, stand, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs, and use basic hand tools.
