Job Summary:

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) position at Bon Secours Mercy Health is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, determine priority of problems and needs, and implement clinical nursing interventions to acute and critical patients requiring intensive medical care.

This role involves developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment, collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team, conducting initial and ongoing patient assessment, and observing the surgery and surgical team from a broad perspective to create and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the patient.

Essential Functions:
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment to determine priority of problems and needs.
  • Implement clinical nursing interventions to acute and critical patients requiring intensive medical care.
  • Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS, CNOR, SGNA.
  • Minimum two years of RN experience in Critical Care, preferably in an Operating Room setting.
