Job Summary
The Health & Safety Manager is accountable for the execution and oversight of tailored Health and Safety initiatives across designated sites. These initiatives will align with the overarching guidelines set forth by the global CEMEX Health and Safety Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Champion the Zero4Life philosophy to foster an injury-free environment.
- Identify and implement best practices, developing comprehensive and site-specific Health and Safety policies that promote a culture of zero injuries and preventable vehicle incidents.
- Offer expert advice, coaching, and support for Health and Safety training programs to meet regulatory standards and address specific operational safety needs.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies such as DOT, FMCSA, MSHA, and OSHA to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist operational teams in conducting thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring corrective measures are established to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide guidance to management on managing injured employees through the transitional return-to-work process.
- Participate in audits of Division Health & Safety Management Systems and support necessary follow-up actions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in health and safety management or a related field.
- Relevant safety certifications (CSP, CIH, CMSP, CDS, etc.) are advantageous.
- Experience interacting with regulatory agencies such as DOT, OSHA, and MSHA.

Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being a self-starter.
- Proven leadership and decision-making capabilities demonstrated through performance evaluations and interviews.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups, including employees, supervisors, and regulatory authorities regarding compliance and safety matters.

Working Conditions
Continuous exposure to varying environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise levels, while working outdoors. Protective equipment is mandatory on-site.

Physical Requirements
This role involves significant physical activity, including walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing. The job may require exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and involves sitting most of the time, with brief periods of walking or standing.
