Job Title: Senior Diesel Mechanic

TransForce is seeking a highly skilled Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Senior Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine repair and maintenance on diesel engines, as well as troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine problems, transmission issues, and brake system malfunctions.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, such as scan tools and laptops, to identify and repair issues.
  • Recondition and replace parts, including pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and bushings.
  • Test drive vehicles and equipment to ensure proper operation.
Requirements:
  • One year of training in diesel engine repair at an accredited community college or vocational school.
  • Three years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B or higher with Airbrake Endorsement.
  • Heavy Duty Towing Certification a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of diesel engines and their operation.
  • Knowledge of causes for engine failure and steps necessary to correct the condition.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in disassembling engines, installing new parts, reassembling engines, and verifying operation after repairs are made.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex diesel/gasoline emission repairs using a scan tool/laptop.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair various vehicle electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair/replace various steering, suspension, chassis, and braking components.
