About the Role

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the Institute for Integrated Catalysis (IIC) are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join their Catalysis Science group. The successful candidate will contribute to fundamental research in heterogeneous catalysis for hydrocarbon and oxygenate conversion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research and collaborate with a diverse team of researchers to advance the understanding of catalytic materials and surface species.
  • Develop and maintain a strong publication record in the peer-reviewed scientific literature through manuscript development and presentation at technical conferences.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with colleagues across PNNL and the Catalysis Science Group to drive research progress and outcomes.
  • Participate in the development of research proposals and contribute to the design of experiments and data analysis.
Qualifications
  • PhD in chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field within the past five years.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in a range of spectroscopic techniques.
  • Experience in catalyst synthesis, kinetic measurement, and spectroscopy is highly desirable.
