Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

NextGen Federal Systems is a leading technology and professional services provider specializing in advanced software solutions and comprehensive mission and business support services. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to design and implement DevOps solutions within an Agile Project Management framework for a DoD mission-critical program.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, architects, and stakeholders to build and optimize the software factory platform to enable DevOps transformations in the AWS IL-5 and IL-6 environments.
  • Participate in team scrum, program meetings, and architectural reviews to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide technical inputs and work to complete assigned action items to drive project success.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with Agile software development, DevOps best practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • 10+ years of development or operations experience supporting Information Technology Operations.
  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps projects, with a strong focus on automation and toolchain development.
  • Hands-on experience with Gitlab/Bitbucket, Nexus, Jenkins, and GitLab runners, with the ability to create CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot tool installations and utilize scripts for process automation.
  • Experience with Ansible automation, Docker, managing end-user tools access, and Linux administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with a mix of Helm charts, Dockerfiles, Terraform, Ansible, Bash, and YAML.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • An Active Secret level security clearance.
  • An MA or MS degree is required. A bachelors degree and 18 years of experience or a total of 22 years of total experience may be substituted for the MA/MS degree requirement.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, attention to detail, and strong customer-facing skills.
