Job Summary

The Lot Driver - Vehicle Transport Specialist is responsible for safely operating motor vehicles on and off the premises to transport, pick up, and deliver vehicles in support of auction activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive vehicles to and from designated areas, observing auction driving rules, rules of the road, and demonstrating courteous and defensive driving principles.
  • Verify the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of cars being picked up and delivered against transportation requests.
  • Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the Lot Manager, Team Leader, or designated supervisor.
  • Move vehicles as necessary and locate vehicles mis-parked.
  • Notify the Lot Manager when vehicles are inoperable.
  • Fill the gas tank when the vehicle is out of gas.
  • Aid in the movement of inoperable vehicles, as directed.
  • Assist customers, such as dealers, account representatives, and coworkers, as needed.
  • Perform a walk-around inspection of each vehicle prior to moving it and note any damage.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.

Working Conditions

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, outside weather conditions, slightly elevated ambient noise levels, and minor atmospheric conditions affecting skin or respiratory systems.
