At St. Gabriel's Hospice, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Hospice Aide, you will provide personal care and support to patients in their homes, promoting their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and according to the Aide Plan of Care.
  • Assist patients with safe transfers and ambulation, as per Hospice policy.
  • Report changes and document pertinent information and care rendered to ensure continuity of care.
  • Practice accepted infection control principles and maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
  • Promote positive communication and respect for patient, privacy, and property.
  • Assist patients with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the Hospice and demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • Perform treatments and procedures according to Hospice policy.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Successful completion of a training program or competency evaluation as specified in Medicare regulations.
  • Current driver's license and valid auto liability insurance.
  • At least one year of experience as a Hospice Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, home health agency, or long-term care facility.
  • Ability to read, write, and verbally report clinical information.
Working Conditions:

Works in patients' homes in various conditions, with possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally.
