We are looking for a leader to develop and execute strategies that guide our manufacturing and warehousing teams towards achieving operational efficiency, product quality, and safety, fostering a data-driven culture of continuous improvement.

Your role will involve ensuring the production of high-quality products at optimal costs while managing staff to uphold integrity, compliance with USDA/FDA regulations, sanitation standards, shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Efficiency:

  • Formulates manufacturing strategies that align with overall business objectives to ensure the achievement of planned results.
  • Builds a flexible team structure capable of adapting to business demands.
  • Aligns priorities with the broader organizational direction to meet customer needs.
  • Oversees production and labor scheduling to meet deadlines and quality standards in compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Establishes and nurtures cross-functional relationships within a matrixed organization.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensures adherence to internal and external regulations, including USDA, FDA, OSHA, and Food Safety standards.
  • Fosters a workplace culture focused on the safety of team members.
  • Manages operations to meet or exceed certification standards for external audits (GFSI).

Operational Improvement:

  • Develops and manages performance metrics.
  • Guides production and warehousing teams through detailed analysis and resolution of strategic challenges.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of operational performance drivers (Six Sigma, lean continuous improvement, etc.) and applies them to enhance efficiency.
Supervision

  • Supervises Production Supervisors and Production Staff.
  • Oversees Warehouse Supervisors and Warehouse Staff.
Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of operations or production management experience, ideally in a food processing setting.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing, operations, or food processing.
  • Experience in a Just in Time (JIT) production environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
Skills and Abilities

  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) across all organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to facilitate and manage change.
  • Robust quantitative and qualitative assessment skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capacity to constructively challenge ideas and assumptions.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in analyzing and measuring productivity.
