Job Responsibilities
  • Perform dissection and histologic sampling of a wide range of anatomical specimens.
  • Conduct frozen sections and other intra-operative consultations, adhering to established protocols and procedural guidelines.
  • Enter gross description and specimen parts into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Maintain digital files, ensuring high standards of specimen photography.
  • Participate in specimen accessioning, labeling, storage, and disposal, as well as the maintenance of reagents and equipment.
  • Review, interpret, and present findings.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program or a medical or scientific field; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Current certification from the American Association of Pathologists' Assistants or the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred.
