Legal Counsel for Prime Services and Securities Financing Transactions

We are seeking a highly skilled attorney to join our Prime Services and Securities Financing Transactions Legal team at Goldman Sachs. As a key member of our team, you will provide legal advice and support for a range of securities financing products and the Prime Brokerage business unit.
Responsibilities- Advising on all aspects of Prime Brokerage services, including bespoke margining and financing arrangements, custody, clearing, and settlement.
- Providing legal advice on the use of and arrangements with execution, clearing, and custody/settlement market infrastructure.
- Offering strategic advice to Prime leadership on reputational and regulatory issues, including advising on potential regulatory change and broader financial industry developments.
- Advising on the structuring and documentation of cash and securities lending, as well as related security arrangements.
- Assisting with the negotiation and drafting of transactional documents, including coordination with internal negotiation teams and management of external counsel.
- Advising on the implementation of and ongoing compliance with key relevant regulations and associated obligations.
- 5+ years of legal experience post-law school.
- Ability to apply legal concepts to complex prime brokerage and trading scenarios and explain them in an understandable way.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Dynamic approach, with an intellectual curiosity that will enable you to develop within the role and effectively identify legal issues and/or risk.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work within a collegiate environment with multiple stakeholders across different locations.
- Ability to prioritize work effectively, be proactive in a challenging business environment, and respond to client demands in a timely manner.
