Patient Observation Assistant

We are seeking a Patient Observation Assistant to provide visual and audible observation of assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and unit manager.
Key Responsibilities:- Visually and audibly monitor the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
- Complete observation reports at established intervals.
- Take initiative in compassionately rendering service or responding to needs.
- Interact hospitably, cheerfully, and supportively with staff, patients, visitors, and work colleagues.
- Remain at the bedside of assigned patients at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
- Verbally redirect patients from engaging in at-risk behaviors.
- Seek help or advice as soon as possible when patients appear to be in medical distress or pose a threat.
- Participate in collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
- Assure patient environments are safe and report any safety hazards to the charge nurse.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Current CPR AED or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
- Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
