Job Summary

Crestline Hotels & Resorts is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Banquet Server to join our team. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests during banquet functions, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO) to ensure accurate setup and service.
  • Set tables in assigned areas, using clean and pressed linens, silverware, china, and glassware.
  • Learn the menu for each function and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods to guests.
  • Stand at assigned stations at least 15 minutes prior to function start time and be prepared to serve guests.
  • Acknowledge and respond to all guest requests, advising supervisors as necessary.
  • Keep stations neat and clean during service and continuously patrol assigned areas to refill drinks and remove service items.
  • Ensure guests have everything they need and use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray break down procedures.
  • Assist the Captain or Manager in setting up buffet and other special food services tables/stations.
  • Set-up, serve, and/or break down coffee breaks, receptions, and other special functions as assigned.
  • Set-up, tend, and break down banquet bars as assigned, following standard policies and procedures.
  • Always follow cash and guest check procedures and return all excess food to the kitchen following sanitation guidelines.
  • Complete any assigned side work, such as refilling condiments, shaking and sorting linen, hanging/storing drapes, cleaning/storing serving equipment and/or props, etc.
  • Assist the steward in keeping Banquet back hall, linen rack, and storage areas neat, clean, and organized.
  • Learns and applies all procedures of proper service and assists co-workers whenever needed.
  • Remain up to date with hotel events and guests, as they affect the areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains responsible alcohol service certification and mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to patrons during banquet events.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous banquet server experience preferred.
  • Must be able to follow directions and get along well with others.
  • Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or become certified by first day on the job.
