As a Tax Associate at ELO CPAs & Advisors, your primary responsibilities will include the preparation, examination, and analysis of tax returns and associated documentation. You will engage with clients and collaborate with internal team members to deliver exceptional tax services, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. This role will encompass a blend of technical tax responsibilities, client engagement, and ongoing education to remain informed about changes in tax legislation.
Key ResponsibilitiesTax Preparation & Research
• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and non-profit entities.
• Guarantee the accurate and timely submission of tax returns in accordance with IRS guidelines and deadlines.
• Conduct tax research to substantiate tax positions and planning strategies.
• Stay updated on new laws and regulations, communicating their impact to clients and the ELO team.
Client Engagement
• Act as a primary contact for clients, addressing tax-related inquiries and providing advice on tax matters.
• Cultivate and sustain strong client relationships, delivering outstanding service and value.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain organized and comprehensive documentation of all tax-related work and communications.
• Ensure all tax files are complete and compliant with firm policies.
Team Collaboration
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments within the firm.
• Assist senior associates and managers with intricate tax projects and planning.
Professional Development
• Participate in professional development and training programs to enhance your knowledge base.
• Stay current with evolving tax laws and regulations and monitor industry trends.
• Fulfill minimum Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. A master's degree is advantageous.
• CPA certification or progress towards obtaining CPA is highly desirable.
• Experience in public accounting or a related field with a focus on tax services.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with accounting software, with a preference for UltraTax.
• Professional office atmosphere with a collaborative and supportive team culture.
• May require extended hours during peak seasons.
