Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Phlebotomy Specialist

The estimated salary for this position is $43,000 - $53,000 per year.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our clinical laboratory staff, you will be responsible for collecting blood and other specimens from patients in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and patient homes. Your expertise will ensure accurate and timely specimen collection, processing, and transportation to the laboratory for analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients using proper venipuncture techniques
- Label and prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory
- Maintain accurate records of specimen collection, processing, and results
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in phlebotomy or related field preferred
- Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or equivalent experience
- Six months of phlebotomy experience or equivalent training
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

- May require working in fast-paced, dynamic environment
- May involve lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
- Must be able to navigate hospital facilities and work with electronic medical records systems
