Work Hours: Must be able to work hours which do not coincide with Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm workday.

General Overview


The role involves performing moderately complex custodial tasks, which include the upkeep and maintenance of county facilities. Responsibilities encompass cleaning, caring for premises, managing custodial equipment, and requesting necessary supplies. The position may also involve training others and requires working under moderate supervision with some degree of independence.


Key Responsibilities

1. Execute custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and floor maintenance.

2. Maintain restrooms by replenishing supplies and applying appropriate cleaning agents.

3. Conduct carpet care and maintenance.

4. Clean office furniture, walls, windows, and floors; manage waste disposal.

5. Inspect facilities for cleanliness and identify repair needs.

6. Coordinate minor repairs and adjustments within the building.

7. Keep accurate inventory records of custodial supplies and equipment; manage requisitions and receipts.

8. Oversee or perform minor maintenance on custodial equipment.

9. Provide training to new staff as needed.

10. Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

2. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in custodial work is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

1. Must possess a valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license.

2. Must be eligible for coverage under the County's insurance policy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Familiarity with cleaning methods and inventory management principles.

2. Proficiency in using custodial materials and equipment, as well as building maintenance tools.

3. Capability to train and mentor others.
