Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at Marriott International Inc. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of events and functions, providing exceptional service to our guests, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with chefs, stewards, and other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Total charges for group functions and prepare and present checks to group contacts for payment.
  • Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are ready for service, and that all necessary amenities are available.
  • Inspect and maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silverware prior to use.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards, and communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, and adhere to all company and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience in a hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards and procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
