About this Role

This Labor and Delivery Unit is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and families. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supporting the nursing team in a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery Unit, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and individualized care.
  • Participate in the rotation to the Special Care Nursery and Postpartum unit, gaining valuable experience and skills in a variety of settings.
  • Support the transition to a LDRP model, working collaboratively with the team to implement new policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Associates in Nursing Required.
  • Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year.
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • NRP within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • EFM Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification within 1 year.
  • Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years.
  • Highly prefer at least 1 year of RN L&D or NICU experience. May consider 1 year of Progressive or CC RN experience or 1 year of Post Partum/GYN/Antepartum RN experience.
