Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Maintenance: Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following established protocols and procedures. Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring a safe and comfortable space for patients.
- Patient Support: Welcome and comfort patients, assisting them into physical therapy apparel as needed. Provide information and answer questions to ensure patients feel informed and at ease.
- Administrative Tasks: Record daily notes and maintain accurate records under the supervision of physical therapists. Provide administrative support as needed, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Treatment Assistance: Assist physical therapists in treating patients by applying ice or heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, and monitoring motion. Track patient progress and provide feedback to physical therapists.
- Education and Training: Educate patients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines, promoting independence and confidence. Demonstrate exercises and strengthening techniques as requested by physical therapists.
- Confidentiality and Safety: Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by keeping sensitive information secure. Ensure a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Equipment and Supplies: Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering them to treatment areas. Position equipment for therapist access and assist patients onto equipment as needed.
- Inventory Management: Maintain physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock levels and anticipating needed supplies. Communicate with the person in charge or order supplies as necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Enhance the physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Demonstrate a team player attitude and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Housekeeping: Collect garbage at the end of each working day, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Knowledge and Skills: Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidential documents and organize multiple priorities. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or a related field preferred but not required. Prior experience in customer service and physical therapy settings an asset.
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching required. Normal range of hearing and eyesight necessary for recording, preparing, and presenting reports.
