Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preliminary assessments of new casting product designs to evaluate manufacturing feasibility and recommend suitable equipment and tooling.
  • Offer design for manufacturability (DFM) insights and suggestions to assist product design teams.
  • Establish, implement, and summarize simulation activities for metal casting processes.
  • Deliver and justify technical presentations regarding casting designs to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple regions to enhance casting development, launch processes, and production efficiency.
  • Engage in travel to support manufacturing facilities and participate in industry-related events.
  • International travel may be necessary for training purposes within the first year of employment, depending on individual experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Preferred educational background includes an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
  • 8-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience specifically in casting processes or casting process simulation engineering.
  • Experience in a high-volume production foundry specializing in light alloy castings is preferred.
  • Proficient user of casting process simulation software, with MAGMAsoft being the preferred tool.
  • Strong knowledge of High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) and/or Low Pressure Die Casting (LPDC) methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) techniques and related areas.
  • Ability to utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, including reviewing, translating, and making minor modifications.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple projects with competing deadlines in an organized fashion.
  • A collaborative team player who works effectively with others, both in-person and remotely.
  • Proficiency in German or Spanish is an added advantage.
