Physical Therapy Manager, FL PACE Centers

Miami Jewish Health is a leading provider of healthcare and living options for aging adults in the Southeast. Our Florida PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) Centers offer a comprehensive approach to care, serving as a health plan, healthcare provider, and social center for older adults with complex medical needs.
We have four adult day health centers serving participants in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to our community's seniors and their families.
Job SummaryThe Physical Therapy Manager will assist the rehab director in program growth, quality initiatives, employee management, and department efficiency. This role will collaborate with site directors, physicians, family members, and other healthcare team members to provide training and education to family/caregivers/staff and other professionals.
Essential Job Functions- Assist director in program growth, development, and departmental operations.
- Support the implementation and carry over of performance improvement and quality initiatives.
- Assist with fiscal management and improving departmental efficiency.
- Assist with employee evaluations.
- Assist in aligning processes with regulatory guidelines.
- Establish a cooperative working relationship between the IDT, rehab team, and other stakeholders.
- Identify potential problem situations, intervene appropriately, and communicate such events to Director.
- Work as a liaison across clinical service lines, including sub-acute and long-term care as needed.
- Participate in and provide in-service education to facilities, supportive staff, students, and the community.
- Assist clinical staff in patient care based on departmental needs.
- Supervise and train therapy staff.
- Attend both departmental and IDT meetings as needed.
Education: Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
Experience: Three years' experience in physical therapy and experience working with the geriatric population. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Managerial experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Florida licensed Physical Therapist. Current BLS certification from American Heart Association. Valid Florida Driver's License. Proof of Auto Insurance.
Abilities: Demonstrates employee management that is fair, supportive, collaborative, and motivating. Demonstrates team building skills with a focus on trust and enthusiasm. Current knowledge of safety issues needed in the treatment of patients, especially regarding body mechanics and body substance precautions to protect self, patients, and personnel working with therapist. Ability to integrate and identify evidenced-based practice and clinical practice guidelines in the delivery of care and staff training. Effective written and oral communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Good problem-solving and clinical judgment skills. Demonstrate ability to take initiative, be adaptable, and work well independently. Be well organized, flexible, dependable, and punctual. Ability to work well with staff, individuals, and participants of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to understand and adapt to multiple PACE sites and their operations. Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel).
Environment Work Conditions: Normal working condition with adequate lighting and ventilation. Ability to work at different sites.
Infectious Material Exposure: Routine exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues.
Organizational Expectations: Ensures that resident's/patient's rights are adhered to. Demonstrates professionalism and accountability. Demonstrates a caring attitude consistent with Miami Jewish Empathicare SM toward MJH residents, patients, family members, employees, and other facility guests. Demonstrates excellent communication skills. Ensures confidentiality and security of patients' medical information. Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication. Able to speak, read, and write English. Able to think and act calmly to meet unusual occurrences of the job. Adheres to the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values. Participates in departmental activities, meetings, and in-services and follows established guidelines. Maintains a safe working environment.
