Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant specializing in Emergency Medicine for a locum tenens role.
Location: Pennsylvania
Position Type: 1099 Locums
Schedule:
Coverage Dates: Long-term availability preferred.
Shift Details: 10-hour shifts with varying physician coverage based on the time of day.
Shift Times: Day and night shifts available.
Practice Structure:
- Provider Team: Comprising 11 physicians and 5 advanced practice providers.
- Patient Volume: Approximately 120 patients per day, averaging 1.7 patients per hour.
- Facility Capacity: 140 hospital beds.
- Transfer Protocol: Ground and air transfers available to various academic centers.
Responsibilities:
Only responsible for running codes within the Emergency Department.
Support Specialties: Access to cardiology, neurology, nephrology, orthopedics, surgery, gynecology (non-OB), and hematology/oncology.
- EMR System: EPIC
- Fast Track Services: Available with an average of 50-60 patients per day.
- Coverage for Fast Track: Primarily managed by advanced practice providers.
Qualifications:
Life Support Certifications: Required certifications include BLS and ACLS for PAs, and BLS, ACLS, and PALS for NPs.
Procedural Skills: Candidates should be proficient in laceration repairs, incision and drainage of abscesses, and splinting.
