Welder Fabricator

A challenging opportunity exists for a skilled Welder to join Aristotle Metal Works team in an exciting new role. The selected candidate will be responsible for utilizing MIG and TIG welding processes, as well as brazing and cutting with oxy-acetylene torch.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively finish and deburr products using various grinders and finishing tools on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. A thorough understanding of AWS welding symbols and blueprints is required.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and repair items and equipment using cutting, burning, brazing, and welding techniques and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine welding specifications.
• Plan work order procedures, gather required tools and materials, and ensure welding machines are set properly according to material requirements.
• Execute daily operations of MIG and TIG welding, rework welding, and monitor the welding process to prevent overheating or damage.
• Notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent understanding of machine and tool designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
• Basic understanding of mathematics related to welding assignments.
• Proven success as a MIG and TIG Welder.
• Experience using a torch, welder, drill press, cutoff saw, hand tools, press brake, shear, and vertical saw.
• Cutting materials including steel, lead, and aluminum.
• Lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
