Chief, Long-Term Care Policy and Planning Director

The State of Maryland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief, Long-Term Care Policy and Planning Director to join our team. As a key member of our Center for Health Care Facilities Planning and Development, you will play a critical role in shaping the state's long-term care policy and planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide overall policy direction, leadership, development, administration, and supervision of the Long-Term Care Policy and Planning section.
- Direct the program work and staff of this division, establish work assignments, schedules, standards, procedures, evaluation, and progress of requested products.
- Develop and lead advisory groups used in the development and updating of the State Health Plan.
- Lead work in policy analysis, health planning, or research requested by the General Assembly or the Secretary of Health that bear on the delivery of long-term care services.
- Supervise and review work assignments to CON division staff on submissions to the Commission that are pursuant to the Long Term Care SHP Chapters.
- Develop work protocols, progress evaluation, deliverables, and completion of Performance Evaluations.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with preference for a degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health; or equivalent experience in a non-health care industry sector that involved substantive responsibilities in planning and market analysis.
- Master's or other professional degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
- Additional consideration will be given for professional experience in health planning and health care regulation, with five years of experience in a supervisory or project team management role.
- Substantive work experience in health care administration or law will also receive additional consideration.
