Job Summary:

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assigned environmental programs as the subject matter expert, working with operations, maintenance, engineering, and plant management to maintain environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in environmental regulations, with a focus on air quality;
  • Interact and work with various teams to ensure environmental responsibilities are met;
  • Monitor site performance against permit and other regulatory requirements, identifying improvement opportunities;
  • Coordinate emissions testing at operating units;
  • Prepare compliance certifications and shutdown/breakdown reports;
  • Interface with regulatory agencies regarding permitting and compliance;
  • Manage the facility's LDAR program;
  • Review capital projects to determine regulatory impacts, assist in design and selection of air pollution control technology;
  • Represent the Jefferson Site during corporate audits and government inspections;
  • Evaluate and perform air emissions calculation estimates;
  • Prepare, review, and update environmental metrics and reports;
  • Lead and participate in the development and improvement of the site's SHES Management System.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering or science discipline;
  • 5 years' experience required, with a preference for experience in the chemical industry;
  • Familiarity with Federal and State air quality regulations, with a preference for experience with Allegheny County Health Department regulations;
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, influence others, and coordinate with others to ensure objectives are met;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency with standard software packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP.
