Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing safe, efficient, and patient-centered medication services.

Responsibilities
  • Verify medication orders and dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
  • Provide safe and efficient medication services, utilizing available technology proficiently and to full extent.
  • Document services in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives and ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
  • Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
  • Direct staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care.
  • Promote a positive work environment by providing constructive ideas and feedback to improve services and the department.
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
  • Provide cost-effective care and adhere to drug use policy.
  • Utilize time and resources effectively.
Requirements
  • PharmD or Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current State within 90 days of hire.
  • Board Certification preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA), or certification obtained within one (1) year of hire.
Work Environment

The Clinical Pharmacist will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision. The position involves standing and walking for prolonged periods, approximately 75% of shift, and continuously for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity is required for computer and dispensing functions, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Normal or corrected vision is necessary, and the ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person is required.

Personal Protective Equipment

The Clinical Pharmacist will follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
