Mortgage Banker

Sandy Spring Bank is seeking a skilled Mortgage Banker to join our team. As a Mortgage Banker, you will be responsible for acquiring and deepening relationships with clients through comprehensive promotion and marketing of mortgage products.

• Business Development: Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, and other business and community service organizations on an ongoing basis utilizing various sales and marketing techniques.
• Market Specialized Loan Products: Market specialized loan products tailored for a specific niche of SSB clients and prospective consumers in need of home financing.
• Client Service: Thoroughly explain the requirements and costs associated with the products while providing top-notch client service and building enduring relationships with our clients.
• Compliance: Assist prospective borrowers in the proper completion of the loan application and provide required disclosures.

• Strong knowledge of mortgage and real estate principles spanning the variety of product offerings available to the borrower.
• Strong aptitude for sales and business development is necessary to meet established production goals.
• Ability and willingness to use personal computer systems to facilitate the application approval process.
• Appropriate interpersonal skills needed to maintain a positive rapport with clients and co-workers.

Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.

Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.

Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
