Rewind Operator

Job DescriptionFrankston Packaging is a leading manufacturer of labels. We are seeking a skilled Rewind Operator to join our team in Tyler, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient output of finished rolls, produced to specifications and in accordance with manufacturing schedules. The ultimate goal of this position is to provide good, quality finished rolls, with appropriate and accurate identification, to each Customer.

Job Responsibilities
The Finishing Department consists of three rewinders, one slitter and one tabletop rewinder. Rolls of labels are provided by the Press Department. Under the direction of the Finishing Supervisor, the rewinder is properly set up to produce finished rolls of labels and the Rewind Operator is responsible for all facets of operations on the machine that he/she is assigned to operate, ensuring that all aspects of product quality are being adhered to.
The Rewind Operator is responsible for communicating job status, supply needs, and any quality issues to the Finishing Supervisor.

Key Duties

• Review job/order specifications to determine all aspects (quantity, unwind, special requirements, etc.) needed to make ready and run the job are on hand (This is performed utilizing the job ticket).
• Detect and remove all quality issues; mark/identify finished rolls with questionable quality issues in accordance with work instructions.
• Complete Finishing Production Report, ensuring all information is completed, including noting any issues/waste involved in that shifts production.
• Complete inspection/checks/review of WIP and finished work. Communicate issues to the Finishing Supervisor and/or Management.
