This specialized role involves the installation, troubleshooting, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems, along with other related building system products at client locations, including panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit issues, and system testing. Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, materials, and support to ensure efficient execution of all assigned tasks. The position entails installing cabling for fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, with a primary focus on networked fire alarm systems.How you will execute your responsibilities:
Carry out installations on integrated security and fire alarm systems. Use a digital multi-meter as a tool for diagnosing ground faults, shorts, and open circuits on fire alarm systems. Respond to customer service inquiries promptly, troubleshoot, and repair as necessary. Complete required certification courses on internal and external products utilized. Complete and submit all necessary task-related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.What we seek:
A minimum of 2 years' experience is preferred in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Calls, and Paging systems. Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals. Familiarity with test equipment, multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices. Willingness to obtain NICET I certification within the first year and NICET II within two years. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Capable of performing physical tasks, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs. Able to work in unusual and sometimes challenging positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to meet customer needs. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Demonstrate a high level of customer service. Ability to adhere to, implement, and consistently follow safety guidelines and procedures. Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly. Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards. Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening. Maintain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.JCI employees are valued members of the Johnson Controls family.
