Job Title: Dispatcher

Overview:

MV Transportation is seeking a skilled Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in directing the day-to-day route operations and reporting to the Operations Manager. Your duties will involve daily communication and interaction with drivers and clients, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and on-time operating performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Take client calls and communicate issues with drivers and management as appropriate.
  • Monitor radio, telephones, and on-road provision of service for quality.
  • Responsible for influencing positive employee morale and quality customer service.
  • Monitor and complete driver sign-in and sign-out daily.
  • May assign trips to drivers to assure adequate disbursement of trips between all assigned routes.
  • Monitor daily system performance.
  • Participate in analysis and review of operating performance.
  • Notes closed and/or late starting of routes and communicates same to Dispatch Supervisors and/or Dispatch Managers as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • One (1) year previous Dispatcher experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years of Customer Service experience is preferred.
  • Able to obtain a CDL B with Airbrakes and Passenger endorsement.
  • Paid training available to obtain a CDL with endorsements.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate a high customer service commitment.
  • Able to demonstrate professional phone manner.
  • Knowledge of the service area is a plus.
