As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Memorial Hermann Health System, you will play a critical role in creating high-quality images of the human body using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technology.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Imagery Technologist to join our team in Sugar Land, Texas. This is an ongoing position, requiring 40 hours of work per week with an 8-hour shift.

About the Job
  • This role involves performing MRI procedures on patients, preparing them for the exam, explaining the procedure, administering contrast when necessary, positioning patients for the MRI scanner, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and ensuring the technical quality of the scan.
  • You will be responsible for entering and monitoring patient data, performing quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix cameras, and assisting with initial and renewal applications for accreditation.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures on patients: prepares patients for MRI exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the MRI scanner, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
  • Enters and monitors patient data.
  • Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
  • Takes emergency call within the department.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
  • One (1) of the following required:
  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR); or
  • Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
Salary & Benefits
