Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Services Dispatcher to join our team at the Alaska State Troopers North Operations Center. As a key member of our public safety team, you will play a critical role in providing support for field enforcement units and answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support for law enforcement activities, including dispatching units to calls for service via the radio.
  • Answer emergency and non-emergency phone calls, utilizing exceptional communication skills to de-escalate situations and provide critical information to the public and law enforcement personnel.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, multitasking and maintaining emotional control and composure during emergencies, crisis situations, and/or extremely stressful conditions.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless communication and effective response to emergency situations.

Requirements:
  • Two years of work experience, including six months of experience in a clerical role.
  • The ability to type at a net speed of 30 words per minute with no more than three errors per minute.
  • Any combination of education from an accredited college, vocational education, or work experience may substitute for up to 18 months of non-specific work experience.
  • Specific positions in this job class may require incumbents to be Emergency Medical Certified, Emergency Police Certified, or Emergency Fire Dispatch Certified.
