Key Responsibilities:


The Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Specialist is responsible for supporting the Medical Director, medical personnel, and registered nurses in the treatment and education of patients within our advanced wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy unit.

This role involves ensuring safe and effective patient care management for an assigned group of patients, adhering to established standards of practice, policies, and procedures, while collaborating with other healthcare team members.

If designated, the Hyperbaric Safety Director (HSD) will perform duties under the guidance of the medical director, director, and clinical coordinator as appropriate for the hyperbaric facility.

The HSD/Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Specialist is accountable for the daily maintenance, safety, and efficient operation of the hyperbaric chambers and associated support systems within the facility.


Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification


Completion of a minimum 40 credit hour National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) approved Hyperbaric Medicine Introductory Course within 120 days is required.


Current certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) from the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT) is highly preferred.

One year of clinical experience in an Outpatient Wound Center is preferred.


If assigned as Hyperbaric Safety Director, attendance at an approved Hyperbaric Safety Director course within 6 months is required.
