We are currently seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Technician to join our team at Penn Machine Company LLC.

This is a full-time employment opportunity available in our Blairsville, PA facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for disassembling and assembling transit wheel set assemblies and their components, using proper fixtures, mechanical devices and hydraulic presses.

  • Dimensional inspection, documentation and assembly of transit wheel set assemblies and components.
  • Test requalified or manufactured product to specifications.
  • Perform magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspection (if certified).
  • Clean, mask, paint or apply coatings to components.
  • Prepare parts and assemblies for shipment.
  • Detailed documentation and recordkeeping.

Basic mechanical assembly experience or training certification in a related field is preferred.

Additional requirements include:
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Accuracy in completing reports/documentation and with reading and understanding written directions and procedures.
  • Machine shop environment background is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision.
