Job Summary

As a Retail Cashier at Nicklaus Children's Health System, you will be responsible for performing all cashier functions, including accurately ringing up sales, making corrections to monetary errors, and balancing the cash drawer. You will also be responsible for maintaining the supplies, general appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of the cafeteria server and dining room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting all customers in a warm and professional manner, responding to customer needs, and demonstrating a positive attitude.
  • Cash Handling: Accurately ring up sales, make corrections to monetary errors, balance the cash drawer, and prepare bank deposits.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain the supplies, general appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation of the cafeteria server and dining room, including stocking retail coolers, serving food, and collecting and distributing supplies to retail outlets.
  • Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare cashier reports as required, reconcile cash on hand at the beginning and completion of shifts, and receive and post lock box deposits.
  • Teamwork: Participate in departmental meetings and services, attend training sessions, and work collaboratively with coworkers to achieve the goals of the SEI program.
Requirements
  • Education: High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Cashier experience and knowledge of e-cashiering and reporting preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to perform calculations, use simple mathematical principles, and operate commercial coffee-maker equipment in high-traffic areas.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of infection control and sanitation, menu items and pricing, and ability to communicate sufficiently well in English both verbally and in writing.
