About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tutor II A&P Specialist to join our team at Johnson County Community College. As a key member of our Academic Support Services department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality tutoring services to students in Anatomy and Physiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to students in Anatomy and Physiology, using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain physical and electronic resources, including textbooks, anatomical models, microscopes, and online guides, to support student learning.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement tutoring programs and services that meet the needs of students.
  • Assist with the hiring and training of new tutors, and serve as a mentor to other center staff.
  • Participate in mandatory training and professional development opportunities to maintain content expertise and stay current with best practices in tutoring and academic support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the Academic Support Services department.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field, with a strong background in Anatomy and Physiology.
  • At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
