Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will:
- Deliver direct patient care to critically ill patients, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of practice.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions in an intensive care setting.
- Document all patient care activities accurately.
- Monitor and communicate patient conditions effectively to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care, including transfers, discharges, and referrals.
- Assess and address the educational needs of patients and their families, providing tailored education.
- Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Complete all required educational assignments for the position.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program - RN required.
Licenses: Must possess a valid Tennessee RN license or a compact state license.
Certifications:
American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certifications required, including:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire or transfer
