Job Overview
Rapid Plumbing is seeking a highly motivated and organized Mechanic Helper to join our workshop team. As a key member of our team, you will assist senior mechanics with various tasks, ensuring the efficient functioning of our operations. About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in vehicle and machine repairs, tool and equipment handling, vehicle preparation, routine maintenance tasks, diagnostic testing, and safety and cleanliness initiatives. You will work closely with our mechanic team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior mechanics with vehicle and machine repairs, including gathering tools, parts, and equipment needed for repairs.
  • Help with basic mechanical repairs under supervision, such as changing oil, replacing filters, and installing components.
  • Organize and maintain tools, parts, and equipment in a clean and accessible manner.
  • Ensure tools are in good working condition and perform basic maintenance (e.g., cleaning, sharpening).
  • Operate various tools and equipment safely, including wrenches, jacks, lifts, and diagnostic machines.
  • Assist with vehicle or machine inspections before and after repairs.
  • Prepare parts for installation, including cleaning and organizing them for the mechanic's use.
  • Help perform routine maintenance tasks, including checking fluid levels, cleaning parts, and inspecting components.
  • Change tires, rotate tires, and replace parts as needed.
  • Observe and assist with diagnostic tests to identify mechanical problems in vehicles or machines.
  • Record or report observations to the mechanic.

Requirements
  • Prior experience in a mechanical workshop or automotive environment is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior mechanics.
  • Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
  • Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects when necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Estimated Salary: $52,000 per year
